A group of 102 nursing aides this morning filed a judicial protest claiming they were being discriminated against because they are not allowed to advance to salary scale 13.

The nursing aides said one of the conditions in their employment precludes them from advancing beyond salary scale 13, while other employees have no difficulty in doing so.

This particular point has been a bone of contention between the government and the General Workers' Union, which decided to take the issue to court after failing to reach an agreement with the government.

The nurses' protest follows an official letter they had presented in court last February.
