Nurses at Mount Carmel psychiatric hospital intervened to stop a teenage boy from engaging in sexual relations with other patients in a mixed ward.

The boy is being kept at the hospital because of violent behaviour.
He was transferred to a mixed adult ward because the area for minors was not equipped to handle him and he was posing a risk to other children.

The MUMN raised its concerns about patients' exposure to sexual abuse earlier this week. The Health Department said it would investigate.
