Registered full-time employment increased by 3.8 per cent last November, compared to the corresponding month of the previous year, according to the National Statistics Office.

Administrative data provided by the Employment and Training Corporation showed that over a period of one year, the labour supply (excluding part-timers) increased by 2.9 per cent, reaching 171,956, mainly due to an increase in the full-time gainfully occupied population (6,022) and a drop in registered unemployment (1,138).

Registered full-time employment in the private sector went up by 3,876 persons to reach 120,964, while public sector full-time employment increased by 2,146 to 44,491.

The number of people registered as full-time self-employed rose by 382, compared to November 2013, while the number of persons registered as employees increased by 5,640.

Full-time employment for men and women increased by 2.8 per cent and 5.5 per cent, respectively, compared to 2013.
