Despite claiming to lead a "Movement of Progressives and Moderates", the PL leader has seemingly not managed to find one single person with the political character required to fill the post of secretary general.
Stefan Zrinzo Azzopardi, at present the PL president, was originally touted for the post, only to object to leaving his full-time job as lawyer, or at least that is what the media reported. Other media outlets, including this newspaper, reported in-fighting between Dr Zrinzo Azzopardi and former secretary general Jason Micallef.
Other potential candidates included Edward Zammit Lewis, who also seemed more interest-ed in his profession and contesting the upcoming general election, and former European Parliament candidate Marlene Mizzi.
The PL leader has now chosen to abolish the post of secretary general. It seems that he is not capable of finding a secretary general, despite leading a Progressive Movement of up and coming politicians.
