Paul Salomone, a member of the now defunct council of the Republican National Alliance, has been acquitted of inciting racial hatred.

He had been arraigned under arrest in June 2006 and charged with inciting racial hatred during a speech he made at an  anti-immigration protest march organised by the right-wing movement in Valletta earlier that month.

Magistrate Giovanni Grixti found that nothing he said could be deemed as inciting racial hatred.

Dr Michael Tanti Dougall was defence counsel.
