Nominees for the seventh Bay Music Awards have been announced.
The winners will be named at the awards event, hosted by 89.7 Bay hosts Drew and Nathan and Talitha, at the Bay Arena, St Julian’s, on December 12.
89.7 Bay listeners may vote by SMS.
Bletchley Park, Dolls for Idols, Saving Alexis, and Ellie and the Oscars have been nominated for the Best Newcomer award (SMS 5061 5301).
The nominees for Best Dance Tune/Remix are Kristina Casolani – DJ Ruby Remix with Get Out; Toby and Scott Walker featuring Taya Cade with Blame; U-Bahn – Jo Micali Remix with Beautiful Eyes; and Joseph Armani featuring Eugene Noiz with Under the Water 2010 (SMS 5061 5302).
Airport Impressions, Red Electrick, Scar and Winter Moods are vying for Best Band (SMS 5061 5303). Muxu, Kristina Casolani, Brooke, and Lyndsay have been nominated for Best Solo Artist (SMS 5061 5304).
Untenable by Scar; Pretty Rival by Ellie and the Oscars; Walk with me by Airport Impressions; and My Neverland by Winter Moods are up for Best Song (SMS 5061 5305).
This year’s edition also sees a new award – the Bay Presenters’ Choice.
The Bay Bands’ Trophy will go to the band which wins the most votes on the Bay Bands’ website.
Voting for the Viewers’ Choice Award (SMS 5061 5300) will open with the TVM broadcast of the show on Christmas Day at 4 p.m. and will close on Boxing Day at midnight.
Proceeds from the sale of CDs featuring the entire line-up of the 2010 Bay Music Awards night will go to the Bay Kids Foundation, which this year has selected respite centre Dar il-Kaptan as the beneficiary. Last year’s CD sales contributed to the purchase of a van for Dar Sagra Familja.
Tickets for the Bay Music Awards, sponsored by Kinnie Zest, Cisk Export and Vodafone, went on sale yesterday.
