Two men, one of them carrying a firearm, were spotted by a woman in her house in Żebbuġ yesterday.

The police said they were informed about the theft at about 2.15 p.m. They said the 25-year-old woman heard noises upstairs and, on investigating, she saw the two men. She fled through a garage that forms part of the house.

Although the police were called in, the intruders managed to escape. Nobody was injured and although the police said it was this was a theft, they did not give details of what was stolen.

Duty Magistrate Jacqueline Padovani was informed and appointed a number of experts to assist her in the inquiry.
