As an aviation enthusiast I wish to see Gloster Sea Gladiator Faith restored to its former pristine condition, that is to the condition it was in before being damaged through enemy bombing.

On Friday, December 5, on TVM, the Prime Minister addressed viewers stating, inter alia, that he definitely wants to end 66 years of bickering on the reconstruction of our bombed-out Royal Opera House. He further stated that a world-renowned architect is to prepare plans for change of use of site to a parliamentary building with cultural exhibition space.

In the following day's edition of The Times newspaper, HM's manager, corporate communications, Pierre Cassar, categorically stated that international codes of ethics in conservation-restoration principles (regarding the re-instating of Gladiator Faith to ITS original condition) clearly stipulate that one should strive to "preserve" a historical object rather than "conserving", "restoring" or even worse "rebuilding" it. It is clear that he does not share the same view as that of the Prime Minister.

Will the Prime Minister, very kindly, as in the case of the bombed out opera house, put an end to the dilly-dally bickering regarding the future of the nation's Gladiator Faith and give the go-ahead for its restoration to its former pristine condition?
