As I waded through the preamble of platitudes I waited for the inevitable "rap on the knuckles". Sure enough there it was: Lino Spiteri was being accused of being "overtly prejudiced" for saying it the way it is. The naughty little boy - how dare he!
Messrs Berger, Blane and Finegold are being overly sensitive in their reaction: perhaps not without some justification. But still, facts are facts and Mr Spiteri would have put it with far less subtlety had he intended to make a point of it. It was merely a passing remark which a reader could have easily dismissed with a slight grin had Messrs. Berger, Blane and Finegold not tried to turn it into an issue.
Lighten up, please, nobody is suggesting another holocaust.
