The police have not prosecuted anyone in Gozo for selling alcohol to minors since 2015, according to the Home Affairs Minister Michael Farrugia. He was replying to a parliamentary question by MP Chris Said.

A PQ a few years ago had confirmed that there were no prosecutions in 2014 either.

The lack of prosecution has raised eyebrows before. In June 2016, Gozo Bishop Mario Grech and the College of Parish Priests had expressed concern that laws which ban the entry of children and adolescents in places of entertainment were not being enforced. They said that photos uploaded on social media showed adolescents as young as 12 in places of entertainment with adults, they said.
