Peace talks between Israeli and Palestinian negotiators resumed in July after a three-year hiatus.Discussions have been held behind closed doors and the US has given both sides nine months to reach a lasting deal.

Optimism and scepticism come in equal amounts as to the success of this renewed effort at lasting peace.But as Kurt Sansone found out ordinary people's hope mingles with fear and mistrust.
