A man found in possession of cannabis resin for personal use was remanded in custody by a magistrate for refusing to give his home address during bail submissions.

Oleksandr Kosholap, 28, originally from Ukraine but living in Malta for the past five years was charged this afternoon before Magistrate Audrey Demicoli.

Though he pleaded not guilty, the accused repeatedly refused to give his home address, saying he was in the process of moving house.

Police inspector Gabriel Micallef also pointed out that the defendant’s address on his identity card was no longer valid. Consequently, the court rejected his bail request.
