Allow me to refer to the letter titled ‘Any news?’ by Revel Barker (October 5) where he stated that “the big news last week was that electoral papers for the Nationalist Party leadership election had been forged. An immediate investigation was launched... Otherwise, any news, yet from the investigation team?’

I would like to point out that the party’s internal commission itself stated that the party leadership electoral process could never have been compromised through forged votes (contrary to what correspondent claimed) because each and every voter had to present personal identification before being allowed to cast the vote in a ballot box.

One can also refer the correspondent to the press release issued by the Nationalist Party’s administrative council as also reported in the Times of Malta on September 30.
