(Adds statement by family doctors)

The number of people still receiving treatment for A(H1N1) is now 58 as another person has been healed, health authorities said.

They said that there were 77 confirmed cases to date with two more - a two-year-old boy and a 22-year-old woman, both from Malta, being found positive yesterday evening.

None of the cases tested this morning were positive.

No A(H1N1) patients are currently hospitalised and those diagnosed are responding to treatment.

Only vulnerable people are now being tested as the country has moved from containment to mitigation.

In a statement, the Association of Private Family Doctors said it was following closely the evolution of the pandemic. It strongly supported the position taken by the Department of Health in mitigating the effects of this illness.

It emphasised that any person who suspecting he might have symptoms should not attend clinics so as not to risk infecting others but should contact their doctor.

Family doctors were in the front line and such emergencies highlighted the importance of a well-organised family doctor system.
