This photo was taken last Friday morning at 9.25 a.m. at the bus terminus at Mater Dei Hospital.

The bus was scheduled to leave at 10.10, a full 45 minutes later! As one can see, no bus shelter has been installed and waiting passengers have to bear the excessive heat, or rain and cold in winter, until the bus leaves. I shudder to think what it feels like between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. when the sun is unbearable. So horses have shelters, as it should be, but human beings have to grin and bear it! We may have a state-of-the-art (the current buzzword) hospital but the transport system is Third World, to say the least.
