Maltese travellers seeking summer holiday inspiration will be pleased to know that Aberdeen, Bratislava, Paris Beauvais, Pescara, Porto and Talinn are now all just a flight away from Malta International Airport.

The launch of these new Ryanair routes was celebrated shortly after the first flight from the Estonian capital touched down at the airport. Ryanair has introduced these first-ever scheduled routes from Malta International Airport as part of its summer schedule, which will also see the low-cost airline kick-start operations to Barcelona, Seville and Gothenburg.

Three of Ryanair’s new routes will enable holidaymakers to jet off to countries that are new to the airport’s network this year, namely Slovakia, Estonia and Portugal, while the remaining new routes will serve to step up the offering to markets, including the United Kingdom and France, that are already popular with locals.

"Ryanair’s significant investment in a fifth base aircraft to be able to operate a summer schedule featuring 54 routes is a clear vote of confidence in both Malta International Airport and the Maltese islands as a tourist destination. What is all the more significant is the fact that the airline has already announced that it will be extending most of its new routes into the winter period," said Alan Borg, CEO of Malta International Airport.

Ryanair will be operating flights on five of its new routes on a twice-weekly basis throughout the summer period. Talinn, on the other hand, will be reachable from Malta International Airport every Thursday until October.
