The annual pilgrimage from Mellieha to Senglea will be held on the night of Maundy Thursday to raise funds for Puttinu Cares. Over 8,000 people took part last year.

The night walk was started 12 years ago Mr Joseph Vella from Mellieha and his son in law Glenn.

Last year €80,000 were collected both from participants and sponsors . Participants are asked to donate a minimum of €10.

This year's night walk starts on Friday April 3 at 2am  outside the Sanctuary of Our Lady in Mellieħa. It takes about four hours  to cover the 30 kilometres.

Water stations and refreshments will be available along the walk.

Free transport prior to the walk from Senglea, at around midnight, and after the walk to Mellieha will be provided upon booking.

Minibuses will be available along the route to pick up those who decide to stop and these will be taken to Senglea. Medical staff will also be on standby in case of emergencies.
