Nigerian-born Uchena Obi, a resident of Cospicua, pleaded not guilty today after being arraigned and accused of conspiring to sell or deal in cocaine.

His arraignment followed the interception, in Germany, of 400ml of liquid cocaine mailed from South America to an address in Sta Venera.

The German police alerted the Malta police who followed the delivery of the package.

Mr Obi was also accused of importing or causing the importation of the drug.

He was remanded in custody.
