Nicholas Sammut, former CEO of the Malta Council for Science and Technology said today that as far as he was aware, all allegations of improper conduct made against him had been withdrawn and there were no pending investigations in his regard.

Dr Sammut was referring to a news story in yesterday's Times of Malta.

“As is standard procedure, I offered my resignation together with the MCST board during the last election. Furthermore, my contract expired on 11th April 2013. Since then I have informed the chairman that I will not be seeking a contract renewal even if a contract is offered to me, for personal and career reasons," Dr Sammut said.

He did not give details on the allegations made against him.
