Twelve environment NGOs this evening urged the public to attend tomorrow's protest in favour of the environment, to be held in Valletta from 10:30am.

The NGOs will be rallying around a common manifesto (read pdf link below), offering the planning and environmental reform that Malta really needs.

The manifesto outlines what they believe must be done to protect heritage, the countryside and residents.

They said their proposals would lead to more transparent regulating authorities, empower the public, guarantee public access and secure health and quality of life.

The NGOs are demanding that the common good be respected and not trampled upon by powerful private interests.
