The Maltese authorities have failed to take action over the beating of  a horse as seen on the Internet, an NGO claimed.

The video was uploaded on the website of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (Peta).

It said the video, which shows a man whipping a horse in a small stall, was reportedly filmed in Mosta.

Peta said it has provided the Maltese authorities with the necessary information, including the alleged perpetrator’s name and address, and asked them to investigate and file charges as appropriate.

It  also asked for the horse to be taken away but said its pleas fell on deaf ears.

It called for people to make their voice heard and demand justice for the horse.
