Nexia BT, formerly Brian Tonna & Co., of Swatar, last weekend hosted the Nexia European Tax Group conference held in Malta for the first time.

Over 45 partners and directors from member firms attended. Nexia International is the 10th largest global accounting and consulting network.

The main theme of the Malta meeting was the taxation of e-commerce, a complex but very topical subject surrounding a fast-growing sector. The conference included various presentations and panel discussions by tax specialists highlighting cross-border cases in EU and non-EU countries.

The main objective of the conference was to bring together Nexia members to explore the implications of direct and indirect taxation of e-commerce and to discuss future direction and practical tax solutions.
