Newcastle’s reward for their dramatic League Cup victory over Chelsea is a home tie against Arsenal in the fourth round.

Chris Hughton’s side snatched a stunning 4-3 win at Chelsea in midweek thanks to Shola Ameobi’s last-minute winner to earn a shot at the Gunners, who beat north London rivals Tottenham 4-1 at White Hart Lane in the third round.

League Two club Northampton, who shocked Liverpool with a penalty shoot-out tri-umph at Anfield in the last round, were drawn to play Championship team Ipswich at Portman Road.

Ian Sampson’s men are the only side from English football’s fourth tier left in the competition.

Holders Manchester United were handed a home game against Wolves in yesterday’s draw.

League One team Brentford, who defeated Everton on penalties in the third round, travel to Birmingham looking for another Premier League scalp.

Newcastle vs Arsenal; Birmingham vs Brentford; Wigan vs Swansea; Aston Villa vs Burnley; Leicester vs West Brom; Man. Utd vs Wolves; West Ham vs Stoke; Ipswich vs Northampton.

Ties will be played week commencing October 25.
