Two new police assistant commissioners and three superintendents were sworn in yesterday.

Neil Harrison and Neville Aquilina took their oaths as assistant commissioners while Marco Mallia, Abraham Zammit and Simon Galea were sworn in as superintendents.

Police Commissioner John Rizzo said the five men were being rewarded for the work they did during their career, adding that they now had bigger responsibilities. He said they should lead by example and spoke about the importance of discipline.

Justice Minister Carmelo Mifsud Bonnici said the new appointments were an important step in the work of the Police Corps.
