The former Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Health will now be the ministry’s Director General, with functions related to the development of ministry staff’s skills, research and the development of the ministry’s administrative arm.
The information was given by Health Minister Godfrey Farrugia in reply to a parliamentary question by former minister Joseph Cassar.
The former Permanent Secretary is currently helping with the process of handing over to the new Administration. His new responsibilities have been agreed in talks aimed at avoiding duplication of work at the ministry and tapping his skills.
