The Citadel Centre for Culture and Arts hosted the first participants in the 'Gozo - The Artists' Island Project', a new initiative by the Gozo Council for Culture and Arts.

The aim of the project is to attract foreign artists - musicians, singers, actors, painters, sculptors and writers - to spend some time in Gozo and offer their expertise to their counterparts through the organisation of concerts, soirees, exhibitions and other activities.

The first group to visit was the Seraphim Consort made up of 35 German musicians specialising in playing Renaissance period instruments. Their repertoire consists of dance music, fantasies and canzonas of the 16th and 17th century and sacred music (motets and masses) of the same era.
