The new parliament building designed by world renowned architect Renzo Piano this weekend is open for viewing as part of activities to commemorate the 96th anniversary of the 1919 bread riots.

An exhibition showcasing curtains and paintings made by prison inmates is set up at the entrance of the administration block. Visitors today will be admitted until 4pm and tomorrow between 9am and 1pm.

Soon after the House opened for the public this morning, a book titled ‘Winning people’s hearts: How social inclusion informed the 2013 Malta general election campaign’ by Paul A Bartolo, was launched by Speaker Anġlu Farrugia.
