A new Malta-shot short film called Late will be premiered on Sunday.
Late is part of a trilogy comprising the film, an art exhibition, and a book. It portrays a woman’s inner being, as distinct from her public persona, as well as her successes, disappointments and needs. She is a woman who shuts the door and is ensconced in her privacy, confronting her realities.
Hynek Vrba, the author of Touch, the novel on which the film is based, and also the director of the film, explains that that the plot is the eternal Romeo and Juliet.
It is a modern-day rendering in a real, difficult world - pure, romantic, and strongly emotional. Starring the Italian Paola Stranges and Vrba himself, it is an extraordinary story of love.
Late has been shot totally on location in Malta. It is produced by Heinek Films. It will be screened during private events.
