Hibernians return to winning ways, beating Floriana 4-0.

As the game moved past the 20th minute, Hibernians reaped instant dividends thanks to defensive uncertainty. Nigerian striker Obinna Obiefule volleyed in with consummate skill from 10 metres after being picked out by Luis Edison as the Brazilian capitalised on an error by Daniel Hanford who found himself stranded after coming out of his line to reach the ball.

And things got even better two minutes later, the Nigerian striker showed great skills to turn past Edet and slip a shot between Hanford’s legs.

Buoyed by that two-goal cushion, the Paolities looked well in control but they were quickly handed a wake-up call. In the 41st minute, Coronado had to exercise his neck muscles to reach Steve Pisani’s cross and archa header over Balzan but the goalkeeper made reflex save to deny the Brazilian striker.

After the break, Hibernians imposed their superior techincal skills on Floriana, knocking the ball around wiith accuracy but they seldom threatened to add to the double lead given them by Obiefule.

Edison did just that in the 71st minute when the Brazilian rose expertly above his marker to head a pinpoint free-kick from Jackson Lima past Hanford.

After that, the Paolities swtiched to cruise control and eight minutes later, Obiefule’s ball from the right landed invitingly at the feet of Edison who tapped it behind Hanford.
