Think of this ceremony not so much as one where you leave the world of theoretical study to enter into the world of practical action, but as one where you blend theory and practice, David Edward Zammit from the faculty of laws told graduates.

Addressing those present at the ceremony held at the Jesuit Church in Valletta, Dr Zammit urged graduates who obtained a law doctorate to be the “reasoning element in society”.

David Fabri, who obtained a doctorate of philosophy from the faculty of laws, also spoke at the ceremony, saying that while one journey had come to an end, a longer and much tougher journey awaited.

“You have longer years of study and preparation ahead of you and you shall find yourself tested and re-tested.”
