The new Gaba premises in Naxxar Road, Iklin which will be officially launched next week consists of seven floors and incorporates Gaba Diamonds, Gaba Gioielli and Gaba Décor, a new branch launched concurrently with the new premises.

The design of the premises was commissioned to internationally renowned Obrist Engineering and the project management, construction and furnishing was all commissioned locally.

“The concept of the new premises both in its exterior and interior is designed for functionality, customer comfort and an enjoyable shopping experience. Gaba want to show transparency and this is reflected on the exterior through crystal clear glass where one can follow all the activity within the outlet form the outside,” the company said.

The façade is not only a modern design but also a reflection of Gaba’s tradition and is all made of natural marble. Grey marble has been associated with Gaba for the past 38 years and its inclusion is a symbolic one.

The shop is characterised by a clear vision of the floors, products and activity. All floors are accessible through a glass lift for eight persons or the imposing glass staircase.

The reception area is set with black marble and with a detailed design as its background. The tiles of each and every floor are all decorated with a diamante glittered tile starting from a dark grey tile on level one and finishing with a light grey tile on the diamond floor.

Gaba was originally set up as a diamond factory in 1972 by Arthur Satariano with his brother Albert Satariano, Anthony and Sam Cremona as partners. The company expanded its operations in 1973 as a jewellery retailer and wholesaler.

To complement Gaba Diamonds in Valley Road, Msida the company opened Gaba Gioielli in 2000, a state of the art premises in a central location (Iklin); offering silver jewellery, household gifts and ornaments, diamond jewellery, 18kt gold, branded jewellery and watches.

Today the business is run by the second generation of the Satariano family namely Lee Satariano, Wayne Satariano and Sue Satariano. Sandro Pace Bonello is a co-director at Gaba Gioielli.
