Ryanair will lay on a new twice weekly flight from Malta to Glasgow (Prestwick) starting on April 14, bringing the number of routes it operates from the island to 21.

The company said it was expecting to fly 800,000 passengers to and from Malta this year.

It also announced the recruitment of 21 Maltese. They were selected with the help of the Employment and Training Corporation and will receive training from the airline.

To “celebrate” its new route, Ryanair is offering one million €6 seats for travel across 500 European routes in March. They must be booked before midnight on Monday.
