Diesel recently launched its new spring/summer collection during a fashion event at the Black Pearl, Ta’ Xbiex.

Inspired by the current campaign which revolves around the concept of aDiesel Island, the upperdeck of the Black Pearl was transformed into an island showcasing the very latest of Dieseldenims, apparel, watches, jewellery, wallets, bags, shoes and accessories.

The display area included a denim wall and was decorated further with wooden crates, logs, suitcases, exotic plants, maps and ropes.

A boat carrying 12 models approached the crowd and presented outfits from the new spring/summer collection.

The denims displayed were split into two categories. For men, these are Dirty New Age and Blue Eyecons.

Dirty New Age builds on the brand’s long-term expertise in the field of purposeful grubbiness. Key advances include three-dimensional and shadow effects, sponged electric blue denim, very light bleaching, chalk shades and raw paint stains.

For Blue Eyecons, three new experimental washes produce genuine works of art. One combines Tencel fabric and treatments to create comfortable yet strongly treated pants. The cool new cut is the Narrot (narrow carrot), a very low-crotch with comfortable fit above the knee, tapering to extreme slimness below to be worn preferably rolled up.

Women’s 5Pockets categories are Powder of Diesel and – making its debut for women – BlueEyecons.

Powder of Diesel embraces Passion Potion – a strong, summery and colourful denim that combines different tones and shades through sponging treatment with pigments.

Girls can also go for a bleached and incredibly soft blue denim or super stretch jeans with a marbled effect.

Slim is the focus in terms of fit. The new styles include Biszou, an ankle-length super slim jegging and two summer pants: Tintsie, a loose workwear-inspired cut with a baggy top and a slightly tighter calf, and Asthair, a summeryThai fit with a low crotch and drawstring.
