In line with its ambitious extension project, The Victoria Hotel has embarked on a major restructuring programme aimed at streamlining all the hotel's operations. An integral part of the restructuring process will be the setting up of a business development department.

The department's main functions will be to seek new areas of operation, as well as market the hotel's amenities locally and overseas. Headed by the hotel's acting general manager, Claire Xuereb, the department will comprise a marketing executive and an events co-ordinator.

Mr Kevin Callus, who was previously engaged in the front office department, has been appointed events co-ordinator. In his new role, he will be responsible to market, plan, co-ordinate and monitor all events taking place at the hotel. Events include banqueting, social functions, conferences and seminars. Mr Callus will also help ensure that the superior service standards set by the hotel are maintained and are in line with clients' needs.
