The ladies' Golf Union Medal was played last month. It had rained for several days and only the hardy turned out. The winners were Maureen Borg and Olga Proell, in the Silver Division, and Eileen Borg and Yvonne Galea in the Bronze Division.

The Titleist Fa Femme contest was next in line. This new competition had an excellent turn-out. Ulrika Davis won ahead of Jenny Scicluna and Theresa Kramer.

Prizes were also given to those with the best score on the front nine and back nine - Margaret Micallef and Linda Cobbe. Scicluna scored a remarkable hole-in-one.

The other competition before Christmas for lady golfers at Marsa was a team event - the Texas Scramble. Thirty players took part.

Team Dix took the honours ahead of Team Proell and Team Busuttil.

Meanwhile, three rounds have been played from the Fenston Cup.

The 'Star' players are Helena Salmon, best individual in the first round with the best score, and Anne van Den Bossche, best golfer in rounds two and three. Both had handicaps cut and promoted to the Silver Division.

Standings: Sapori (Hans Proell) 20; Cassar & Cooper (Maureen Borg) 16; The Golf Shop (Felicity Dix) 16; Gala Supermarket (Andy Holland) 11; Time Share (Alan Shaw) 10; Playmobil (Hans Antoni) 9; Nappa (Keith Woodward) 3.
