Catherine Formosa is the new company secretary for Bank of Valletta. Dr Formosa, who formerly occupied the post of head of Legal Advice, Succession and Garnishee Orders within the bank's Legal Office, will take up her new role from Thursday, upon the retirement of the incumbent secretary Victor Cardona.

Dr Formosa graduated in law from the University of Malta in 1999. She is also certified in Trust Law and Administration IFSP/MFSA.

She joined BoV in 2000 and has been posted in the Legal Advice section since. Between 2000 and 2003, she provided consultancy services to Mamo TCV Advocates, while between 1996 and 2000 she also worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers - Tax and Legal.

Dr Formosa is the Malta Bankers Association representative on the Consumer Affairs Committee of the European Banking Federation and is a member of the bank's New Product Approval Committee. She is also the bank's representative for Consumer Credit and Consumer Affairs and head of the bank's Payment Services Directive Impact Assessment Team.
