The Labour Party today announced the signing of a new collective agreement for its broadcasting company One Productions, and the appointment of a new board, now chaired by Phyllis Muscat. Michael Vella Haber remains managing director.

The party said the new collective agreement features improved working conditions for the workers.

"Among other things, the overtime pay will again be 90 minutes or more for every hour after a period of sacrifices so that the company could move forward," the MLP said.

The overtime rate at One Productions had been the source of political controversy in the run-up to the general elections in March, with the PN using the hourly overtime rate to argue that a Labour government would have reduced overtime.

MLP leader Joseph Muscat in comments after the signing of the agreement. said these were exciting times for One Productions, which needed to continue to face the challenges of maintaining the production of high end television productions, maintaining its dominance in radio and introducing a second radio station for young people, and setting up a cell phone service.

The other members of the board are Mario Cutajar, Tony Sultana and Dr Vella Haber.
