A new collection of vibrant patterns on canvas has been launched by artist and graphic designer Stephanie Borg, who is back in Malta after having lived abroad for some years.

The collection, made up of repeat motifs and linear forms, is a new concept that enables art lovers to purchase art that is not mass produced and that can offer a degree of exclusivity.

Clients can select a pattern, choose the colours they prefer that might fit better with their taste and décor, and choose the size that fits their space. They can also opt for different finishes for the canvas material. This combination would give them art personalised unique pieces.

“Ever since I can remember I have had a fascination with pattern,” said Stephanie. “When I was young, I used to go with my mother to ‘tal-bicciet’ and ask for any cut-offs which I used to collect and play with by putting them next to each other and exploring different combinations. Going to ‘tal-bicciet’ for me was like going to a sweet shop!”

“I have translated my fascination with pattern and my passion for colour into a large range of designs that betrays my living experiences in countries with diverse cultural backgrounds like the Bahamas, Florida, Italy and Oman.”

A preview of Stephanie’s patterns on canvas can be found at the artist’s newly redesigned and updated website www.stephanieborg.com. She can be contacted directly through the website or at steffiborg@hotmail.com.
