A 28-year-old man was charged with trying to break into a Santa Venera house on Saturday night – the second person accused in connection with the same case.

Marvin Zammit, of Msida, was also charged with breaking into a Birkirkara home on Friday and stealing several objects and conspiring with others to commit several burglaries.

He pleaded not guilty and was remanded in police custody.

On Monday a 22-year-old Qormi man was charged over the same case.

Police Inspectors Arthur Mercieca and Sarah Magri told the court that the arrests took place on Saturday night after the police were informed that a group of people were lurking outside a home in Santa Venera and were “acting suspiciously”.

Lawyers Kris Busietta and Jason Azzopardi represented Mr Zammit.
