Alex Grima, a young entrepreneur in the field of IT software solutions and with a background in the hospitality industry, was recently appointed chairman of the Round Table (Malta) 3, for 2009-2010.

Round Table (Malta) 3 forms part of the Association of Round Tables Malta, and is aimed at promoting service, fellowship and goodwill in national and international affairs.

The newly-elected chairman said that "in the coming year, Round Table 3 will focus on growth, modernisation and renewal, and will work very hard to organise successful fundraising events so as to continue assisting the community in the best way possible".

The Round Table is a participating organisation and provides the possibility to members to develop themselves while having fun along the way. From sports to arts and nights out to family social events, Round Table not only prides itself on giving its members the chance to embrace life to the full, but is also very actively involved in raising money and helping the community.

Mr Grima also thanked his predecessor Chris Carabott, for his contributions during his year as chairman.

This year's officials are Robert Vella, who has been appointed as vice chairman, Michael Schembri will serve as secretary, Patrick Cutajar was confirmed as treasurer and Chris Carabott will serve as IRO.

During this year's AGM, Simon Cusens, who dedicated a good part of his life to the Round Table, was nominated as Honorary Member in recognition of his contributions to Round Table and to Malta through his various roles in Round Table International.
