Oliver Scicluna has been appointed chairman of the National Commission Persons with Disability since Joseph Camilleri has reached retirement age, the commission said.

In a statement it thanked Dr Camilleri for his work in 20 years occupying this position.

The commission said Dr Camilleri was instrumental in enabling persons with disabilities to represent themselves, speak in public and become activists in society.

Mr Scicluna assumed the chairmanship of the commission on April 1. He was deputy chairman for the previous six months and had founded Breaking Limits.
