Economist Clyde Caruana has been appointed chairman of the Employment and Training Corporation with immediate effect.

Over the past months, Mr Caruana introduced a number of major government policies through the Jobs+ initiatives, namely 'Free Childcare for working parents', 'Making Work Pay' and the 'Youth Guarantee'.

Philip Rizzo will be the corporation's new CEO. Mr Rizzo, who was already a member of the ETC board of directors, is a professional accountant with a 40-year career as a business consultant in the private sector.
