The first Neuroscience Seminar Day of the University's Department of Physiology and Biochemistry will be held on Tuesday from 11.30 a.m to 6 p.m. in the Physiology Lecture Room on campus.

The seminar will feature presentations by guest speakers from the UK and on research under way at University on neurological diseases such as absence epilepsy and various neurodegenerative disorders.

Besides offering the opportunity to review state-of-the-art knowledge of the pathophysiology of some neurological disorders, the seminar will also offer the opportunity for networking with neuroscientists in Malta.

The objective of the seminar is to foster new research collaborations based on recent findings, including synaptic activity, neuro-inflammation and new techniques such as the two-photon microscopy and their use in exploring the mechanisms involved in drug targeting.

All those interested in neuroscience research are welcome to attend. For further information contact Prof. Giuseppe Di Giovanni on 2340 2776 or via his e-mail on the University website.
