The crammed 2004 Winter League will be completed this weekend. Actually, the last match in the official fixtures' list will be played on Tuesday when the ASA Youths face Exiles. However, Anthony Farrugia's team are again playing out of competition and their results do not count for classification purposes.

This year the warm-up competition, the 11th since its inception, was played in four weeks due to difficulties after delays in refurbishment at Tal-Qroqq's pool.

There was a marked drop in interest as most of the matches were played in front of bare stands. However, that did not stop current holders Neptunes from maintaining their focus to stay on course for a record third title in a row.

Their main challengers are Sirens. Both teams showed better consistency in their play so far, winning six times from as many outings to maintain a perfect record.

Today, they clash in the third match on the programme, a decider that could drag into extra-time if there's no winner at the end of normal time.

The National Championship draws will be made on Tuesday in a meeting at Mriehel during which John Soler and David Pace Lupi, best players in Division One and Two last season, will also be presented with their trophies.

Previous Winners: 1994 Neptunes; 1995 San Giljan; 1996 Sliema; 1997 Sirens; 1998 Sliema; 1999 Sliema; 2000 Neptunes; 2001 Sirens; 2002 Neptunes; 2003 Neptunes.
