I refer to the letter ‘Language school nightmare’ by Edward Gingell Littlejohn (May 18).

I would like to firstly make it clear that in the 17 years that our school has been in operation, we have never had issues with neighbours and have always maintained good relations with them.

The promotion of our school has always been aimed at a clientele that chooses the quiet, high-class residential area we are located in over the hustle and bustle of central St Julian’s.

As such, our students are genuine cases of people who seek out Malta to learn English in an environment conducive to study, meaning that they enjoy the peace and quiet of this neighbourhood and would certainly not disrupt it themselves.

We intend to keep the surroundings this way as this is the clientele the school continues to attract. Needless to say, the school residence premises are attended round the clock.

The correspondent is constantly focused on people not parking their cars in front of his property, even if the vehicles are not blocking his car in any way. We have always accommodated his wishes not to have cars parked in front of his house, even going as far as informing newly-recruited teachers of this. This was the case until he took it too far and began to verbally abuse our staff and students.

I would like to conclude by inviting anyone wishing to see and judge for themselves to come over to the area at any time of day or night to witness the calm and seamless way the school and residence blend in with the residential surroundings.
