Is-Simar and Għadira nature reserves are now open to public every weekend until May, BirdLife said.

"We welcome all visitors to explore the nature reserves and to get outdoors," reserves manager Mark Gauci said.

"By visiting the reserves you could spend a while in a peaceful atmosphere within nature, and it is free of charge. Providing such opportunity for everyone is very important for BirdLife Malta. Both nature reserves have a unique habitat for the islands and are rich in bio-diversity, making them a great place to visit. They are now open every weekend until May and we hope to see lots of people coming back to enjoy them."

Last weekend, BirdLife Malta hosted a special family event at Is-Simar Nature Reserve to mark the re-opening of the nature reserves for the winter season. Throughout the morning children attending the event took part in a story session, nature exploration activities, where they got to see beautiful birds up close through a bird ringing demonstration.
