A co-producer of The Chronicles of Narnia films has died after being found unconscious in his New York City apartment.

Police said doctors were unable to save Perry Moore, 39, who was discovered in the bathroom on Thursday morning. They said the cause of death would be determined by the city's medical examiner, but no foul play was suspected.

Mr Moore's father Bill told the New York Daily News that the initial post-mortem examination was inconclusive. He said he had "no clue what happened".

Besides helping produce the Narnia film series, Mr Moore was the author of a 2007 novel, Hero, about a gay teenager with superpowers.

The novel won a Lambda Literary Award for best novel for young gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender children or adults.
