I recently attended the press launch of the Programme MOTE - My Opinion My Vote, a project managed by the Equal Partners Foundation together with the Programme for Inclusive Education within the University of Malta. I must commend them on this initiative as the right to vote should be open to all.

Among the aims of this project is to "empower people with learning difficulties through active citizenship and participation in political elections" as well as "to form and express an informed opinion" during an election like any other citizen. However, another important aspect of this project is to raise awareness among the decision makers such that people with learning disabilities are not hindered in exercising their right to vote. Europe is for all.
