Anyone who has had to use the Vodafone 247 freephone number must surely have heard the recorded, hold-on message in English. But if one is made to hold long enough, one can hear a further message by the same person (a girl with an Australian accent): "it-telefonati jigu risponduti fl-istess ordni li gew ircevuti". Could someone tell me what language this is?
And if that were not enough, here's another. The anchor of the 8 p.m. news on TVM recently said "ezaminazzjonijiet" instead of "ezamijiet".
This is a mutilation of our native language. Where are our linguists? Where is our Education Minister?
