The Malta Union of Teachers has registered an industrial dispute with MCAST and warned of possible industrial action.

It said it had been informed that collective agreement provisions on training for the academic staff and progression in their salaries were not being followed.

Furthermore, it was in dispute with the college over the assignment of contact house and also over the way how, during a meeting of the MCAST Institute of Community Services, the academic staff were warned not to report shortcomings to the union.

The MUT said such intimidation went against all principles of democracy.
